NEWS RELEASE:
Renewal Design-Build, Jim
‘N Nick’s Bar-B-Q and Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q Teaming Up to Feed 1,000+ Homeless in
Atlanta The Day Before Thanksgiving
The Day Before is a Pre-Thanksgiving Event
Feeding 1,000+ Homeless Families in Atlanta
ATLANTA, GA, November, 21, 2016 –On Wednesday,
November 23 starting at 11 am, over 1,000 homeless people in Atlanta will enjoy
a pre-Thanksgiving day feast at an event called The Day Before. The
meals will be served at the Our House shelter located at 173 Boulevard NE, Atlanta, GA 30312 and at
the Metro Atlanta Task Force for the Homeless located at 477
Peachtree Street, NE, Atlanta, GA 30308.
Three local companies have teamed up to create and
coordinate this event including: Renewal
Design-Build of Decatur, Jim ‘N Nick’s
Bar-B-Q of Atlanta and Fox Bros.
Bar-B-Q of Atlanta who will be cooking and serving traditional Thanksgiving
meals. Sysco Atlanta generously donated all 80 turkeys for the event.
Additional funds raised will be used to purchase socks, hats and clothing for
the homeless.
“It’s a great feeling to help those in need,” says David
Michelson, President of Renewal Design-Build. “We are passionate about our
commitment to our community, and we welcome opportunities to pitch in and help.
It’s been gratifying to see other companies so eager to join in and make this a
bigger and better event. We also hope to raise awareness so more individuals
and companies get involved and make a difference in our community.”
Event History:
Two years ago, Anthony Hamilton, Jobsite Ambassador with
Renewal Design-Build, organized an event to feed 500 people in Atlanta. He
collected donations from employees and clients. When he started to organize the
event again this year, he mentioned it to Mike Hufler, a partner with Jim ‘N
Nick’s Bar-B-Q. Hufler got excited and reached out to Jeremy Chambers, owner of
the Jim 'N Nick's Bar-B-Q in Atlanta, and Jonathan
Fox, owner of Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q, who both readily agreed to help.
Here is a link to an 11 Alive feature about Anthony Hamilton
and the 2014 event he coordinated: http://www.11alive.com/news/local/southwest-atlanta/good-samaritan-provides-hundreds-with-hot-meals/253273064
Hamilton created the family tradition of feeding the homeless the day
before Thanksgiving years ago. “My inspiration for the event came from memories
of my own childhood and knowing what it was like to be hungry and in need,”
said Hamilton. “I was helped by many good people along the way, and I wanted to
instill the value of caring for others in my two sons. You never know when you
may be on the other end and need a helping hand.”
ABOUT Fox Bros. BAR-B-Q:
Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q is an
award-winning barbecue restaurant located just south of Little Five Points in
Atlanta. They are known for their unique Southern-style barbecue with a Texas
flair. The Fox brothers developed a sauce that mixes the flavors of Texas with
the heat of the South. It's a tomato-based sauce with a hefty splash of vinegar
and a southern sweetness, with a subtle blast of Texas heat. We call it
"Sweet with Heat.” Today Fox Bros. Bar-B-Q has become an Atlanta staple,
with favorites like the renowned Beef Brisket and the Smoked Wing Basket. Fox
Bros. Bar-B-Q has been featured on Good Day Atlanta, CBS Better Mornings, The
Weather Channel, TLC and Fox News. For more information and reservations please

Field & Stream Coming to Atlanta Market
Field & Stream is coming to the Atlanta market in Kennesaw near Dick's Sporting Goods with connecting pathway, the stores together will be known as All American Sports Center
Read all about it below from
Field & Stream entering Atlanta market
Coraopolis, Pennsylvania-based Field & Stream
plans to open its first Atlanta area location next year in Kennesaw.
The new 42,728 square foot store will open in place of the former
JCPenney Home Store in Town Center Commons on Ernest Barrett Parkway.
Field & Stream will open adjacent to its larger corporate parent,
Dick's Sporting Goods, which occupies an 80,000 square foot space,
previously occupied by Galyan's, which was purchased by Dick's in 2004.
The
existing Dick's will be heavily renovated and will add a connecting
pathway between the two stores. Together, the stores will be known as "All-American Sports Center".
All-American Sports Center made its debut last summer at Mobile, Alabama's McGowin Park development.
A
Field & Stream representative indicated current plans are for the
new store to be open sometime between late spring and mid-summer next
year.
Field
& Stream was launched by Dick's in 2013 as a competitor to
Cabela's. Like Cabela's (which was purchased last month by another
rival, Bass Pro Shops), Field & Stream focuses on hunting, fishing,
camping, and related outdoor recreation merchandise. The first Field
& Stream opened on August 16, 2013 in Cranberry Township,
Pennsylvania, at the site of the former Dick's location in Cranberry
(Dick's had moved to a newer location nearby in Cranberry Township in
2012).
Cabela's
has a location about nine miles north on I-75 in Acworth. REI, which
is also a competitor of Field & Stream, has a location across
Barrett Parkway in the Barrett Pavilion shopping center.

Beatty is Back - Warren Beatty’s Biggest Films, Ranked
With Warren Beatty's new film “Rules Don’t Apply” starting soon, lets look back at some of his best movies.
From: http://variety.com/2016/film/news/warren-beatty-films-ranked-1201913042/Warren … who?
Back in 1967, when Warren Beatty was fast on his way to becoming one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, Esquire writer Rex Reed was so frustrated by a long, rambling interview with the actor that he wrote up a hatchet job called “Will the Real Warren Beatty Please Shut Up?” that opened with a visit to the UCLA campus in which he asked five random students what they thought of the star. Only one even recognized the name, a point Reed took as damning proof that Beatty wasn’t nearly as big a deal as everyone seemed to think — when in fact, you could go down to UCLA now and perform the same poll with the name “Joe Biden” or “Mike Pence” and the recognition would be even lower.
For Beatty, that profile was so embarrassing that he swore off press for the next quarter-century, contributing to a mystique (coupled with his mythology as the industry’s most seductive star) that makes him uniquely suited to the role of eccentric billionaire Howard Hughes in “Rules Don’t Apply.”
And yet, it has been so long since the last time Beatty made a movie (15 years since “Town & Country,” an R-rated flop seen by no one under the age of 17 … and by very few adults) that a proper repeat of Reed’s mean-spirited experiment would be hard-pressed to find anyone of the college-aged generation who knows Beatty’s work — which surely explains why the poster for “Rules Don’t Apply” reads, “From the Academy Award winning filmmaker of ‘Reds,’ ‘Heaven Can Wait,’ ‘Shampoo,’ ‘Dick Tracy,’ ‘Bonnie and Clyde,’ ‘Bugsy’ and ‘Bulworth.'”
That’s one helluva track record — listing seven of Beatty’s proudest producing credits, four of which the star also directed himself. How many of them have you actually seen? What follows is a ranking of those seven Warren Beatty movies from Variety’s chief film critic, Peter Debruge.
