Jack Olvey Paint Store (not sure of spelling) is where we bought our paint supplies. And The Variety Store had everything, I would ride my bike over to east lake and always go to The Variety Store to buy candy, bubblegum cards, kites and other junk, and then ride over to a 7-11 type store near the Fire Department and get a bottle of Mountain Dew, most of the time is was a Coca-Cola, but Mountain Dew just came out.

The correct spelling of Jack's last name is Olvey. Jack also owned the Hickory Hut Restaurant across the street.
