From a post at Fresh Loaf : "According to the county, the construction is part of a streetscape improvement that will result in an eight-foot-wide sidewalk similar to those winding through the other greenspaces along Ponce."
At first I thought they were going to widen Ponce in that area.Now I know the answer Streetscape Improvements.
