Decatur’s Trinity Triangle, bordered
by Howard Avenue, Trinity Place and Church Street, will have its first
apartment units ready for occupancy in late January.
Kent Collins,
principal owner for developer Centro Development, said the project will
total 210 apartments — six live/work, 37 efficiency, 125 one-bedroom and
48 two-bedroom — ranging from $1,000 to $2,000 a month.
There
will also be 6,500 square feet of first-floor retail/restaurant space,
where currently the only announced tenant is Dairy Queen, which
previously operated on the site for about 30 years.
Dairy Queen
can begin its build-out in December but Colin said he anticipates it
won’t open until after the apartments are ready. He added there’s space
for at least one and maybe two more restaurants.
