N. McDonough St. circa 1942

In World War II, Dekalb citizens turned out for an enthusiatic war bond rally on the Courthouse Square in Decatur. Movie actress Dorothy Lamour appeared as a special guest. (1942) Photo from Julius McCurdy (81-92)

Not many photos showing this side on North McDonough St. have been found. If you look close you can see one sign that is  POP'S CAFE . And you can see what looks like a AMOCO Gas Station at far left. The buildings were torn down for the New Courthouse.
