Below is my personal Jr Deputy Sheriff's League Badge from the early 70's.
This is the city, Decatur, GA. I carry a badge.
The story your about to hear is true.
The Dekalb County Police Department had a similar program when they opened it's new Dekalb County Police Department building back in the early 70's
I can remember Dekalb County Police cars being gold in color about the color of Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
Uri Wurtzel owner of Twain’s Billiards and Tap, echoes the sentiment of his brother by saying, “Homemade beer and music go so well together, and we wanted to put together a day that featured local bands for a springtime celebration. We also were looking at new ways to contribute to people in the community in need, and the Atlanta Community Food Bank's mission made a lot of sense to us. We're glad to be teaming up again with them for the second go-around!”
This year’s line-up:
All the musicians slated for the day are donating their time and talents to help raise these funds.
Tickets are $10.00 and available for purchase the day of the event at the door. All proceeds will go to support the Atlanta Community Food Bank. Doors open at 12:45 pm with the first band beginning promptly at 1:00 pm. Music will last until 12 midnight.

He watched batting practice, met Chipper Jones and manager Bobby Cox and got a little tongue-in-cheek from Braves president John Schuerholz.
After someone suggested Schuerholz might have Wilson throw a bullpen session, Schuerholz shook his head no and quipped: “Can you hit?”
Wilson, who dates Simpson’s daughter Meg, grew up in Dallas and pulls for the Texas Rangers but said he’s been a Braves fan as well from their years on TBS and pulled for them in the 1990s.

DeKalb County remains committed to closing a dozen schools over the next two years, the school board chairman said Wednesday night.
Former DeKalb Superintendent Crawford Lewis said two months ago that he planned to close as many as 10 to 12 schools. In the past few weeks, however, school board members have wavered on whether it is necessary to close schools.
On Wednesday, school board Chairman Tom Bowen confirmed that schools will be closed and the list is not isolated to the schools identified by the Citizens Planning Task Force.
“We have 11,000 empty seats. We will have a total of 12 schools -- elementary, middle and high -- that will close,” Bowen said. “Just because your school was removed from the list doesn’t mean it won’t be closed.”
