Iberian Pig to Host Cooking Class
The Iberian Pig will host an Atlanta Community Food Bank’s Simple Abundance Cooking Class at The Cook\'s Warehouse on May 17. One hundred percent of class tuition benefits Atlanta’s Table, a project of the Food Bank that collects food from our local hospitality industry and delivers it to more than 40 nonprofit partner agencies that provide meals for those in need. Chef Crete brings the Spanish and Portuguese influenced flavors of his Decatur restaurant to Simple Abundance. The menu for this class includes: Ensalada Mixto - mixed field greens, pickled red onions, figs, Serrano ham, golden peppadews stuffed with Mahon Cheese, piquillo peppers and sherry vinaigrette; Croquetas de Queso - crispy goat cheese, citrus-honey yogurt and lavender honey; B.W.D. - bacon wrapped Medjool dates stuffed with Manchego cheese and walnuts and Meat Flatbread - Serrano ham, arugula, caramelized onions, shaved Manchego cheese, pistachio and Chilean extra virgin olive oil. The evening includes wine tastings sponsored by Sherlock’s Wine Merchant and a chance to win fabulous door prizes provided by Atlanta Beverage, Bella Cucina Artful Foods, and Cabot Cheese.
