The Decatur Police Department
will be hosting a “Self-Protection Workshop” on Wednesday, January 8,
2014 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. at the Decatur Recreation Center (231 Sycamore
Street, Decatur, GA 30030). Teens ages 13-17 are welcome to attend this
workshop with a parent/guardian.
This workshop is designed to teach you how to be proactive, maintain
awareness and be decisive during a violent confrontation. In the
workshop, the presenter will cover:- Behavioral Profiling – Situational Awareness – Personal Security vs. Self-Defense
- Mindset – Conditions of Readiness – Warning & Danger Signs of an Attack
- Simple & Effective Self-Defense Techniques – Improvised weapons
